:: Blind portrait of a Lover

This is a painting of mine,
Its a blind mans image of his lover, one that he has never seen
That goes to explain the colors and shape
This would be a good time to admit I'm Scotomaphobic

The eyes are the most prominent feature in my opinion. Fabulous.

Interesting perception.

Though a blind man, might not know the color red as to be associated with love...

Thank you guys,
Ohoud, Yes, its not red/pink because its associated with love, you know when you close your eyes and face the sun or something very bright, these colors you see are the ones i tried to use, even if the blind don't see them, its the closest form of blindness we experience.

dave,
its amazing how they have names for everything, it reminds me of a book "the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy" where one word conveyed a very detailed message.

What strikes me about this portrait is that it is very masculine, if you cover the mouth, it could very easily be a man's portrait. Many painters do self portraits subconsciously ( Mona Lisa was thought to be a portrait of Da vinci ) many of Van Gogh’s portraits for other people have his own features. So maybe this is not the blind man’s lover but actually the painter’s own image of himself as a lover?

Striking colors! I believe they show the imaginary side of the painting. I admire the shades and the concentration points. Good job.
